“As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I strive to help people make thoughtful decisions and take appropriate actions in response to emergent needs and concerns.  I believe in promoting patient self-determination, through providing strength-based counseling, psychoeducation, and facilitating patient access to support services.”

“It is important to view health as treatment of the whole person, looking at mental health and social factors, in addition to physical health and symptoms.   Through the use of solution-focused interventions and/or counseling, I will partner with patients in improving their emotional, physical, and social well-being.”

“At ICHC, an important part of my job includes consultation with physicians and community providers.  I appreciate the integrated health philosophy.  The providers at ICHC are skilled at anticipating adjustments to services based on knowledge of diverse populations, and current social/environmental events and conditions.

Living in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest all her life, LCSW Murphy enjoys all seasons.  She appreciates the stunning beauty of the landscape year-round.   Especially treasuring the endless sun and summer activities Alaska has to offer. When not working LCSW Murphy likes to spend her free time reading, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
