ON PATIENTS

“Everyone has their own unique story, and patients deserve to be met with empathy and curiosity as they share it. As a social worker, I believe therapy works best when a patient’s symptoms are understood within the context of their relationships, environments, and life experiences; not just their diagnosis.”

ON BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

“I approach therapy as a collaborative, strengths-based process that helps patients to create deeper self-understanding and develop more effective ways to navigate life’s challenges.”

ON INTERIOR COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER

“Integrated healthcare at ICHC understands the biopsychosocial connection between physical health, emotional well-being, and social determinants of health. I love being part of a team that approaches healthcare holistically and with whole-person care.”

Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, LCSW Varn moved to Alaska in 2008. She has worked in behavioral health with children, adolescents, adults, and families in interior Alaska since 2010.

She enjoys spending time with friends, going on playdates with her dog, traveling, reading, enjoying the outdoors, and exploring Alaska.
